My goal is to help you re-imagine your life. With extensive experience in hypnotherapy and counseling, and a vast history of client success, my individualized, positive approach will help you attain your goals.
As a Doctor of Behavioral Health, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, I specialize in helping people achieve balance in mind, body, and spirit.
I truly enjoy helping people. Whether it is a weight loss journey, help with chronic pain or stress management, learning new behaviors to improve overall outcomes, or learning how to manage other mental health issues like depression and anxiety, I collaborate with my clients and other professionals to maximize effectiveness.
I truly listen to what my clients want and need, and I help them find solutions by incorporating Solutions Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Hypnosis/Mindfulness exercises into my practice. I offer a very eclectic, unique, and tailored approach to wellness that my clients appreciate.
I have worked in private practice, a psychiatric hospital, and community healthcare for the past eight years. I have experience working with children and adolescents as young as four with severe mental health issues and adults of all ages. I have worked with Veterans, prisoners, homeless populations, people with eating disorders, addicts, emergency service personnel, athletes, divorced parents, people experiencing suicidal and homicidal ideation, and more.
In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, extended family, and friends. My favorite places include the mountains and the ocean. I love my dogs, reading great books, cooking, and learning new things like how to play guitar. You might even find me on the weekends on the back of my husband's motorcycle! I am an active member of the Junior League of The Woodlands and love volunteering my time to help others.
I am also an active member of the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Mental Health Counselor's Association, the Texas Counseling Association, and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
Committing to a healthier lifestyle is just that – a commitment, and it’s a big one that will take a lot a dedication. My commitment is to provide you with accountability, understanding and support. I am very dedicated to my clients and ask that they be as dedicated to improving their lives, as well.
The first step is to fill out the paperwork I must have in order to see you. I need to know your medical history, background, and what brings you to therapy. I need to know if you are suicidal, homicidal, or have any form of hallucinations. I also need to know if you have ever been diagnosed with a mental health issue and what steps you have taken since that time to improve. Finally, it will help me to know what medications and supplements you take and if you have any chronic health problems.
I also need you to understand informed consent and the limits of confidentiality. When we meet, I will explain how we formulate a treatment plan and go about terminating our sessions. In our first session, besides asking about your history, I will want to know what you want to accomplish during our time together and how you will know that we have been successful.
So be patient with the initial process. It is important that we do everything the right way! Click the link below to print off the paperwork. Then go to the Contact Us page to send an email with the completed and signed paperwork attached. After that, I will reach out to you to schedule an appointment if one hasn't previously been made. I look forward to meeting with you!
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 right away! Do not wait to get help if you are having suicidal thoughts with a plan and means to carry out that plan. Get help if you are feeling suicidal and are alone. If you have access to lethal means, please ask someone to remove everything and put it in a safe place. Please do not get intoxicated or mix alcohol or drugs with prescription medications.
